Remote Access

All 4th floor Linux machines, plus a number of other general access department machines, are accessable via the internet.

To log on from a remote location, obtain an ssh client program (please visit our ssh page for details), and use it to connect to one of our machines. You can find a list of currently accessible machines for all CSPP users on our CSPP Login Hosts page.

If you can't get access to an ssh client program, use harper's ssh Java Applet to connect to harper, using your CNET account. Once on harper, you can ssh to a CS machine.

Dialing in to CS Computers

The university maintains a large modem pool, allowing users with a CNET account to access their central server harper. From there you can ssh to any accessable CS machine.

Connectivity Package

The University provides a Connectivity Package containing Windows and Macintosh software to enable connections to the University Computer System. This package is available from the University Bookstore.
