Configure Mozilla for IMAP

  1. Click Window->Mail & Newsgroups

  2. If mail has not been configured yet, the Account Wizard may appear. Otherwise
    • Click Edit->Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings

Email Account Configuration:

  1. Enter Account Settings
    • Email Address: user@cs.uchicago.edu
    • Server Type: IMAP
    • Server Name: laime.cs.uchicago.edu
    • Outgoing Server: smtp.cs.uchicago.edu
    • Username: Your CS Username
    • Uncheck Compose messages in HTML format

  2. Click Server Settings
    • Click Use secure connection (SSL)
      • The Port number should change to 993
    • Set other preferences as desired.

  3. Click OK and restart Mozilla for the changes to take effect.

  4. NOTE: The first time you check your mail with Mozilla, it will complain about a server certificate. Check Remember this certificate permanently
