Other mail clients
Some clients do not support IMAP or POPS, and cannot be used to access
our mail server. However, if they do, here are the important settings:
- Protocol type = IMAP
- Incoming mail server/Imap server = laime.cs.uchicago.edu
- Incoming mail server Uses SSL (i.e. port 993 instead of 115)
- suggested Server timeout = 10 minutes
- Outgoing mail server/smtp server = smtp.cs.uchicago.edu
- Our outgoing mail server smtp.cs.uchicago.edu does not use ssl
- If you are sending mail from home, you would probably use the outgoing mail server provided by your ISP.
