Note: the first time you connect to the IMAP server, you will be asked about a security certificate. Just click accept.
Note: Outlook does not provide a way to tell it "Accept this certificate permanently".
This can be overcome, by realising that Outlook uses Internet Explorer
to do a lot of things. So, if we convince IE that this certificate is good and can be trusted permanently, we are done. To do that:
- Open up IE (not any browser, IE specifically).
- Go to the URL https://laime.cs.uchicago.edu:993
- IE will immediately complain about the certificate.
- Click on "View Certificate"/"Install Certificate" (or something like that) and follow dialog boxes and ask it to put the certificate in the "Trusted Root Certificates Store".
- Once that is done, no more "Should I accept this certificate" problem from Outlook.
