Note: the first time you connect to the IMAP server, you will be asked about a security certificate. Just click accept.

Note: Outlook does not provide a way to tell it "Accept this certificate permanently".
This can be overcome, by realising that Outlook uses Internet Explorer to do a lot of things. So, if we convince IE that this certificate is good and can be trusted permanently, we are done. To do that:

  1. Open up IE (not any browser, IE specifically).
  2. Go to the URL https://laime.cs.uchicago.edu:993
  3. IE will immediately complain about the certificate.
  4. Click on "View Certificate"/"Install Certificate" (or something like that) and follow dialog boxes and ask it to put the certificate in the "Trusted Root Certificates Store".
  5. Once that is done, no more "Should I accept this certificate" problem from Outlook.
