Mathematica Licensing

The University of Chicago has a Mathematica license that covers all Computer Science Department computers. Before you can use Mathematica, you should make sure the license is configured. Here are two ways that should work:

  • Run mathematica (this requires X), and choose the "Network License" option. Type in license.uchicago.edu and hit OK.
  • Run these commands at the shell:
    mkdir -p ~/.Mathematica/Licensing
    echo '!license.uchicago.edu' > ~/.Mathematica/Licensing/mathpass

Please email techstaff@cs.uchicago.edu with any questions or problems.
