Research & Development Internship Program The Travelers Internship Programs provide qualified students an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand business experience, receive valuable on-the-job training, and work with the research and statistical modeling staff engaged in data mining, predictive modeling, and other actuarial research applying advanced statistical tools.Data mining and predictive modeling are gaining wide acceptance in the business world and the demand for professionals in the field is rapidly growing. Interns will use SAS and other software tools to retrieve and summarize data in preparation for analysis. Perform statistical analyses using statistical software and be expected to interpret the results and identify significant outcomes as well as producing reports to explain findings.
There are several paid intern positions in Hartford, CT, St. Paul, MN and Chicago, IL. Interns will work on challenging assignments that will utilize and develop their technical skills as well as their overall business skills.

Subsidized apartments are available for students who live beyond a commutable distance. Positions are available beginning in May or early June for 10-12 weeks. Research and Development Internship Program Requirements:
o Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Computer Science and Physics majors preferred. o Graduate Student pursuing Master’s or PhD o Extra-curricular involvement on campus or in the community o Strong Communication skills o Demonstrated leadership experiences/skills
