WindyCitizen.com, an online news startup based in Chicago, is hiring a technical intern.We’re looking for a highly skilled person to help us develop and support new features for our PHP-based technology platform. The ideal candidate will have experience and interest in working with machine learning and datamining. You need to love writing code!
Required Skills: We’re looking for someone who… - writes clean, semantic HTML and solid CSS - has a thorough knowledge of Javascript, PHP, and mySQL - knows what "svn up" means - writes code that scales - has a hyper-critical eye, especially when QAing your own code and projects; we want someone who sweats the details.
Salary: $15/hour. We're looking for 10-15 hours a week from the intern.
Nice to haves: Experience with datamining and machine learning; experience with jQuery or similar JS libraries; an appreciation or especially keen eye for good design; lives and breathes web technology, wants to try new things.
You’ll be working directly with the founder in a do-it-yourself startup atmosphere. You will be building code that sees heavy use.
Duration: 3 months (flexible)
