What is the Gig Tank Student Track?
Gig Tank Student Track is a part think tank, part startup training ground. Our mission is to develop both the next wave of disruptive technologies, but also the amazing humans who will build those prototypes. It doesn't hurt that here in beautiful Chattanooga, TN, we have the largest and fastest gigabit fiber network in the Western Hemisphere. Successful applicants receive free housing and a $3000 stipend. Participants gain real-world experience through the conception, build, and launch of an original product while wearing many hats. Simultaneously, students delve deeper into their chosen concentration, collaborating with local partners to develop apprenticeships. Participants will leave Gig Tank with a compelling portfolio and a wide professional network.
Who can apply?
Anyone who has guts. We are looking for artists, designers, hackers, developers, thinkers, coders and visionaries at both the undergraduate and graduate level. We want applicants who are collaborative with a strong desire to build applications at amazing speed. We. Want. Doers.
What skills are required?
Your role will vary from each project, but some skills include:
-Building new products, services, and user experiences throughout the product life cycle
-Conducting original, hands-on research utilizing experiments, surveys, and statistics
-Expressing your ideas in captivating presentations and pitches
-Intersecting various disciplines to navigate a range of projects
