L-3 Stratis has an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to support an important government project as a Programmer. This government office focuses on using electronic methods to collect information from large multi-establishment companies for use in national surveys providing input into leading economic indicators. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, team oriented, customer service focused, flexible, and possess demonstrated experience in the software development life cycle/systems integration environment.
- 5+ years of experience in a paid professional position developing complex web-based applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft .Net Framework
- Experience with writing applications in ASP.Net, VB.Net
- Experience coding complex SQL queries for a high transactional database
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design
- Excellent debugging, coding, and analysis/design skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated affinity for seeking, evaluating, and coming up to speed on new technologies
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve application, technical and user issues - Must be capable of prioritizing and executing tasks along with working on multiple projects at the same time adhering to critical project timelines in a fast-paced
- Self-starter, motivated to learn quickly
- Use Business Analysis skills to understand and map client needs in software terminology.
- Understand and define business processes, identify solution gaps, and identify creative solutions.
- Design and develop .NET applications as part of overall product solution.
- Prepare and document Test cases for the application to ensure quality.
- Serve and have previously served in a similar capacity as a primary technical and application contact for clients and users.
Qualifications
Background and Experience: (including education, skills, work activities) (a) Minimum required:
- Graduation from a four year accredited college or university with a degree preferably in computer science.
- Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in ASP.Net, VB.Net.
- Experience building applications in .NET Framework 3/3.5/4.0
- Experience in scripting language JavaScript, VBScript
- Experience in Relational databases Oracle, Sybase
- Experience coding complex SQL queries for a high transactional database
- Development Experience in Visual Studio 2010 Professional
- IIS 7.0/7.5 setup, configuration and maintenance experience in a Windows Server 2003-2008 R2 environment
- Expert in HTML layouts using browser-compliant CSS and semantic markup
- End to end software development lifecycle experience
- Understanding of client-server architecture and various application design patterns and concepts (OOP, n-tier, etc.)
(b) Desired:
- Knowledge of CMMi process
- Experience in Joint Application Development (JAD) process
- Visualization - Harness the power of Processing ( and other libraries ) to visualize & explore the various uses of data.
