Familiarity with clinical trials, biostats (SAS or STATA), and/or research design is preferred but not required. We would like the student to intern with us for at least 9-12 months, and if possible stay longer on an as needed basis. This student should also have dedicated time in his/her schedule to develop the two databases within a short time period (~2-3 months for each database) and participate in discussions with the Research Manager regarding the design on an ongoing basis. The student should have work study. Interested students should contact the Section’s Research Manager via email at: aneustadt@babies.bsd.uchicago.edu or by phone: 773-834-3890.

About the Section of Family Planning The Section of Family Planning and Contraceptive Research, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago, was established in June of 2005. The Section’s mission is to improve reproductive health care for women and youth and is grounded in the belief that every woman has a right to plan if, when, and how to have a family regardless of race/ethnicity, socio-economic status, or citizenship. The future of reproductive health can only be secured through education, research, and policy. The Section of Family Planning consists of five overlapping and supporting subsections: Clinical care through The Ryan Center which provides first- and second-trimester abortions; Education through the Fellowship in Family Planning and the residency training program; Innovative research through a combination of clinical trials and community-based research; Policy through weekly newsletters, quarterly bulletins, advocacy, and lectures; and International health care through the Greenlife Clinic in Cape Coast, Ghana
