Research

For twelve years, my primary research interest has been making parallel computing more accessible to non-experts while balancing the oft competing concerns of performance and programmability. Doing so requires a holistic approach to computer system design in which applications, programming interfaces, runtime systems, systems software, and hardware are all considered and subject to redesign. Toward that end, I have done research on applications, programming interfaces, system software, and hardware architecture.
