CMSC 15400: Introduction to Computer Systems (Lab)

Location

Lab meets 3:30-4:50 on Wednesdays, in JRL A01C (the MacLab).

Description

The goal of the lab is to give students experience with the tools useful to systems programmers (e.g., debuggers, profilers, etc.). Lab exercises may be completed with a partner and are due at the end of lab unless otherwise noted. Late submissions will not be accepted without prior arrangement.

See the course syllabus. Note that the course midterm occurs during a lab session: Apr 30, 4pm to 5:30, in Ryerson 276.

Grading

Lab exercises are graded on this scale:
  • zero: not submitted
  • check-minus: mostly incomplete/incorrect
  • check: mostly correct/complete
  • check-plus: correct/complete (and, when applicable, maintainable, robust, etc.)
The lab grade contributes 10% to the overall course grade.
